I have an idea.... To put it very simply, digital marketing in Ireland is years behind the rest of the world. I have spent a lot of time observing the advertising & marketing industry from the inside and have noticed that digital marketing seems to be run by people who in my view don’t have a clue what they are doing. The reason for this is that the so called marketing professionals don’t seem to ‘get’ digital. How can they sell what they don’t understand? Enough ranting, its time to do something and grab the opportunity! I want to bring a group of highly skilled marketing and new media professionals together to create a brand new full service modern communications or ‘digital’ agency with a strong focus on social media and mobile. I need to be game changing and innovative beyond anything else in the country. Who am ‘I’ ? I have worked in digital marketing from a design, production and development perspective for 10 years. I can bring a huge amount of experience to the table as well as clients. I can’t do this alone. I need partner up with 2 - 3 key people to make this happen and I are looking for expressions of interest from highly skilled and experienced digital marketing professionals. The main areas revolve around digital brand strategy, creative, sales and search marketing. Whats in it for you? Each partner will be a shareholder, your investment is your time and your salary will be based on what the company creates in terms of revenue. This is your business startup, you decide how it works and how hard we all work will determine the rewards, there is money to be made out there but that not why you start a business. I want to do some great work, if we do that the money will look after itself. I want real geeks here, you should live and breathe this stuff - if you only work in digital because you think its ‘where its all going’ - forget it. I want real passion and broad knowledge base. Here is a list (in no particular order) of what skills I think we need, I don’t expect anybody to have all of these, but if you do, your in! - Energy and a passion for all things digital - Digital brand strategic planning experience - Brand based social media strategy, planning and management experience - Digital creative/design expertise - Ability to bring clients to the table - Digital Media planning/buying - Search marketing (SEO and AdWords) - Project management - Sales experience - Must have contacts and potential clients to bring to the table - Must be a highly driven self starter - Lively, fun and energetic. This is at a very early stage, I hope to bring this to life in the next 6 - 8 months if I can get the right resources.
